Sometimes, you may need to disable a plugin in your WordPress hosting account but you cannot log in to the WordPress Dashboard. It is also possible to disable a WordPress plugin via your cPanel control panel. For instructions on how to do this, please see the following:

  • First, log in to your cPanel
  • Click File Manager
  • Navigate to the public_html directory and then to the wp-content directory
  • Right-click the plugins folder and click Rename
  • Change the name of the plugins folder to disable all of the plugins for your site (rename back to plugins to re-enable all of your plugins again)
  • You can also disable individual plugins, just click into the plugins folder
  • You can then just rename each plugin one at a time (and just rename them back to re-enable them)
